On Tuesday, April 27, 2021, Romance Was Born’s Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales, bassike’s Mary-Lou Ryan and Deborah Sams and Rebecca Valance were amongst the raft of leading names from the media and fashion industries who gathered at a breakfast hosted by IMG in the Yallamundi Rooms at the iconic Sydney Opera House for the highly anticipated announcement of the 2021 Afterpay Australian Fashion Week (AAFW) schedule and program.

Over breakfast canapes and refreshments, IMG Fashion Events and Properties, Asia Pacific, Vice President-Managing Director, Natalie Xenita and Afterpay Co-Founder and Co-CEO Nick Molnar revealed an impressive line-up for the 2021 edition of Australia’s most prestigious annual fashion event.

The 2021 AAFW schedule is a dynamic and engaging program of physical and digital offerings for the fashion industry and for fashion loving consumers. From runway shows to panel discussions to the live Lady-Brains podcast, the Indigenous Fashion Projects runway show, and Afterpay’s Future of Fashion Runway, the AAFW 2021 program celebrates Australia’s incredible fashion designers and the wider cultural fashion landscape.

Taking place from May 31, 2021 until June 4, 2021, at Carriageworks and in other venues around Sydney, key highlights of the program include up and coming designer Jordan Dalah’s opening runway show where he’ll debut his Resort ‘22 collection, along with the In Conversation series featuring fashion industry luminaries such as Alex Perry, P.E Nation’s Pip Edwards and Claire Tregoning, Camilla Franks, and Aje’s Edwina Forest and Adrian Norris.

For consumers, students, fledgling brands, and anyone dreaming of a career in fashion, the AAFW 2021 program has a slew of stellar options. Soak up the energy and excitement of the Opening Night Runway show at 7.30pm on day one of AAFW (buy tickets, here), or join the cultural conversation at AAFW: The Talks, presented by Glenfiddich Whisky.
